Growing up, I had a dog named Maximus. I had always dreamed of having a pet of my own, so naturally, when I finally moved out on my own, one of the first things I did was get a dog—Max. He was a Golden Retriever and Great Pyrenees mix. He was an amazing dog, and to this day, I have nothing but great memories of him.

The name “Maximus Prieten” has its roots in Latin. Maximus means “greatest” or “best,” and prieten means “friend.” I’ve always loved the name Maximus—it’s also the name of the main character in my favorite movie, Gladiator.

I created this clothing brand because I love anime and everything about comfortable, everyday wear. I’ve always dreamed of owning my own business, so I thought—why not combine the two and create something I truly believe in? That’s how Maximus Prieten was born.
